Overview

Katniss Everdeen lives in District 12, one of 12 districts in an unknown, possibly future-Earth world, led by a city called the Capital.  Every year, in punishment for the rebellion of the districts (in which District 13 was destroyed), each District must offer a boy and a girl to compete in the Hunger Games, a contest in which the 24 “tributes” are thrown into an arena and fight to the death.  When Katniss is selected, she must prepare for a fight for her life.  This award-winning book can’t miss (which is a pun you will understand when you read the book) with fans of Action and Adventure.  The books in the its sequel is Catching Fire, and the final book in the trilogy is Mockingjay.
